The inn was originally built as the home of Madame La Framboise, one of old Mackinac's wealthiest fur traders in 1820.
In 1995, the inn was completely renovated and expanded, adding two new buildings to the grounds for a total of 65 rooms and suites. Rooms with harbor or garden views, balconies and air conditioning are available.
You can observe the yachts and ferries in the harbor from an antique wicker furnished veranda.
